strawberry picking

alternative title: how to drive your 8 month child to a major meltdown.

We made the overly optimistic decision to go strawberry picking yesterday afternoon.  Kenz was already having a fussy day and it was ninety degrees out...but strawberry picking! We were sure this was the key to turning her mood around!

So, right.  It didn't go as planned.  We still picked four quarts of strawberries, but were planning to pick about twice that much.  When all was said and done, Kenz was a trooper and did her best, but one can only hold on for so long.  At one point, I thought it would be a great idea to give her a strawberry to eat.  Since she still isn't eating anything else, I thought this could be the food that wins her over!  Of course, she immediately squished it in her hand and didn't even try to eat it. hashtag winning.

All fussy babies aside, it was still fun to get out and pick our own fruit, which is one of our favorite summertime adventures.  We will be back, I am sure, and hopefully with a happier child in tow (or a babysitter.)
