weekend happenings

I have to admit, I wish I was here posting photos of us building three-story tall snowmen, but snowstorm Nemo skipped right over our parts.  The above photo is about the most we got.  And by Sunday afternoon, it had all melted.  You owe us one, Nemo.

Last week we finally bit the bullet and bought new sofas for our living room.  Believe me, it was a long time coming.  Because of this, we decided to stop letting Amber up on them.  It has been sad (for us) and confusing (for her) to yell, "off!" every time she tries to nestle in for a nap.  We have set up several comfy blankets for her on the floor, which we are hoping she gets used to.  Ohh, we are such suckers for those puppy eyes.

Sunday afternoon we took a long walk.  It was sunny, which was melting all of the beautiful snow, but it couldn't have been more pleasant weather.  It was the kind of walk that, by the end, we had shed our hats, gloves and even jackets.
Although our weekends always go too quickly, we are thankful for the time away from our busy weekday lives.  Here's to a brand new week!

Cute post! I love that feather you found. It's so pretty. :) And I agree with you wholeheartedly on the too short but nice weekends that help aid us along in midst of busy and ehctic weekdays.

I am a little jealous of the snow that some people got as well...although when the sun starts shining I start to crave spring and summer again...

Good luck with the couch training! That's got to be rough...I don't think I would be able to resist the puppy eyes.

We don't let Lucy up on our couch either, and it's so hard to resist sometimes - especially when I'm home alone. BUT when we leave, we're pretty sure the first thing she does is jump up there. I think she and Amber would be good friends.

What a lovely weekend! Where do you guys live that it snows? I always think snow would be so fun, but it's a bit of a stretch to think we could get it in southern california, haha! and you are just TOO cute, you know that?
