this video

david and I have been getting into watching Ted Talks, which are short talks given by all kinds of inspiring people on a huge variety of subjects.  The only danger in doing this is being so inspired by the videos and then just watching another one rather than actually changing the way we live to reflect what we have learned.  We are trying to be intentional about that.

I came across this video on Meg's blog yesterday, and cannot stop thinking about it.  It is twenty minutes long, so I know many of you probably won't watch it,  but consider taking a few minutes this weekend. The line that struck me the most was:
"if all the insects died, the world as we know it would disappear within 50 years.  Yet if all humans were gone, the world would flourish."
This video really made me rethink my sense of entitlement, particularly when it comes to the availability and consumption of food.

I LOVE watching TED videos too. They're all so inspiring and thought provoking. I love the ones who features about our education system. Makes you think about life and our society differently...
