twice a month: january review

For the month of January, I resolved to complete a detox with david, and purge and donate from our home:

I wrote all about our week-long juicing detox in a previous post, but I am glad to have done it (and to have finished!).  It was a good experience in discipline and health.

I also spent the month purging our home of things we don't need.  I ended up with a bin full of clothing and a bin full of other household items.  A few friends have looked through them to take things they wanted, and the rest of it is off to salvation army.  The sad thing is that I could probably gather this much stuff we don't need every month. How we manage to accumulate so much junk is beyond me.

stay tuned for February's challenges!

Good job! Decluttering feels so good doesn't it?

I love seeing all the fruits and veggies on your counters :)

Good for you!! That's a wonderful idea!! I've recently been giving my place a good purge (so moving will be easier) and it feels so good!

I was thinking about how much "stuff" we have and it really is sad. I don't even use half of what we own! Good for you for purging. That is one of the best feelings in the world!

i love a good purge of my junk. i do it every few months and i love it! last night i went through all my nail polishes and threw out all the old, goopy ones and went through all my printed recipes and threw out the ones i know i will never make. so basically i'm on an organizing high right now :)

Have you read The Happiness Project? I started reading it this week and it totally goes along with this post. We are doing a cleanse right now and de-junking this weekend, I am excited!
