New Year's Eve was our last night in Chicago, so we spent the day with david's family and the night with my family ( and YES. we were exhausted from running back and forth between families for 10 days, but it was worth it.) Each person brought/made their favorite appetizer or dessert to share with everyone. My sister Kate made fried pickles, which ended up stealing the show. We played games, drank wine, reflected on the last year, and set goals for 2013. One of my favorite new traditions we have started is each picking one person we want to get to know better in the new year. I am excited to be more intentional with the person I chose. We counted down the new year at 11pm because we are old farts, and hey, it was midnight somewhere!
